September 10, 2001: There is a possibility that FEMA's National Urban Search and Rescue Team arrived in New York the night before the attacks. FEMA member Tom Kennedy says in a CBS interview on Sept. 13: "We're currently one of the first teams that was deployed to support the City of New York in this disaster. We arrived on late Monday night [September 10] and went right into action on Tuesday morning" [September 11]. FEMA officials said Kennedy misstated his team's arrival date. Kennedy has not been reached for comment. [CBS, 9/13/01] Even if true, perhaps they had other reasons to be in New York that day? When did FEMA in fact go into action?
